Brief/Identity Package/FinalizedLogo Posting_Bains

This is a copy of my brief and my identity packet as well as my logo design, sorry I forgot to upload this on the blog until now! Please give me your feed back on everything, colors, logo design etc? My company is geared towards high end luxury companies looking for a place to print their custom designs. I wanted to make something that was higher end, and showed a little bit of thermography in the logo itself.

  1. Izzy I really like how your logo appears to be raised off the page, just like your printing process. I also like the way you did a cover page for each section, like the type and color palette section, it makes things easy to find especially if this document was to keep growing with all the brand guidelines.

I like the name Raised prints but you could also almost do a play on words and say Praised prints... like we're praised for our prints and the prints are raised... Just a thought....

I love the color palette for your target audience, high end consumers usually go for the deep muted sophisticated looking colors and I think this dark blue really pulls it off, while using the gray to stay kind of corporate. Cool close ups on the photography style!

    Good job girl!

  2. Hey Izzy,

I really like the idea for the logo. I think that it should show a raised aspect and communicate that but I think the gradient you used may detract from the logo itself. Maybe a smoother transition or a different color inside the logo might help. Either way I really like the direction this is going in and I can't wait to see it progress.

    Best,

  3. Hey! I'm really digging the 4th photo down, showing your logo on the all blue background where the logo looks like it's popping out of the page, very apealing to the overall feel of your company. My only question is, the photos seem very elegant compared to your logo which seems very corporate, would possibly switching to a strong serif be in consideration for you? I think your colors are really strong but I think the closeness of the 'P' and the 'R' is tangling them together a little too much. Maybe even making it smaller inside the embossed circle or making the circle bigger? I love the overall idea of the logo and really think it will come out extremely strong with a few small tweaks!

  4. Izzy - I can see that you understand the process and where your company will fit into the market. I also see some good examples of the work assembled in your image research. I think my only feedback right now, something I think you should think about, is the logo design.

Question: Do you need the "P"? The leg of the "R" creates a logo that could be made of 2 "R"s. So... I'm not convinced using both letters is a good idea. Try simplifying the logo by using just "R" and see what you think. I see that Chelsey has also suggested you use two Ps. Your call - but something needs to shift so that if there are two letters, we aren't confused.

The gray version of your logo works significantly better than the colored version in my opinion. Not sure why that is... but I suggest you use the blue color for typography and not the icon - keep that in gray. It is quite nice as a subtle gray - and as you know, thermography is a subtle process, something that is often not even seen at first. It's often something we only see in a dramatic lighting situation, or feel with our fingers.

  5. I love the embossed effect you used for company logo. The only thing is with you logo its difficult to make out the lettering. I cant tell where the P ends are where the R begins. Being two letters that look very similar to each other it easy for them to get lost within each other. Also, your companies name is Raised Custom Printing, the initials indicate that the name is Raised Printing. I think with your logo it may be more clear for you company if you use all three initials. Otherwise, it looks great! Keep up the good work!
